TV Tuesday

I know that I don't have many visitors...yet (I'm optimistic). However, I'm going to move forward with my TV and Movie suggestions even though I did not get a single yay or nay....really its okay to comment. In fact, please...comment.

So, anyway.....

Today is Tuesday and one of my favorite new shows that both my husband and I like to watch comes on tonight, Justified. It stars Timothy Olyphant who was in one of my favorite shows from not too long ago....Deadwood (HBO). He's a US Marshall and just like the title....he can justify his shootings. Good show plan and simple. If you were a fan of Deadwood, you'll like this show. In fact, we've noticed a few actors from Deadwood have shown up on Justified...coincidence, I think not. Its almost become a game to see who's going to show up each week. Check it out, 8:00pm CST on FX.

Another great find....

So this is how it works. I see something somewhere, i.e. magazine, book, flea market, whatever....I call my mom and ask, "Do you remember (insert the item remembered from my childhood here)? She says, "maybe." She goes and looks for it or asks my dad if he remembers it. Then she comes over with it. My dad is great...you can pretty much count on him giving it to me.

Saw the stapler above in my latest Country Living mag and remembered it from when I was a kid. Voila! It magically appeared at my house. Thanks Daddy and Mom! Now if my mom still likes it and wants to keep it, there is no chance I'm getting it, but I cool with that.

The stapler is a Pilot made by the Ace Fastener Corp, Chicago IL. It still works too!

Pink Bathroom

I recently redecorated the girls' bathroom. The theme was PINK. I still have a few things left to do, like change out the knobs and get something for the wall opposite the mirror. Its pretty much done, so I thought I would share.
Old Southern Living at Home planter that was tucked away in a closet. It works perfect with the new pink flowers.
Spray painted this ordinary basket.
I had these shadow boxes forever. I knew I wanted to use them for the girls, but I hadn't come up with anything until recently.
I made this sign quite some time ago, it had a "K" in the middle. Looking through my stash of things I came across it and thought the colors were perfect.
I took the "K" off and cut out the letters to spell "pRiNcEsS."
Spray painted these two frames and put pictures of my princesses in them.

My Mother's Day Gift

I made a trip to Archivers today with my two friends Emily and Sara and when I got back I had this waiting for me.

I love it! I've already put a couple of miles on it.

BTW...the trip was awesome. So much fun and I definitely want to do it again.......soon!

A Love Song for Bobby Long

I thought of another movie that I would share. This one is called A Love Song for Bobby Long. As I've mentioned before I looooove New Orleans and I've seen a lot of good and bad movies about or take place in New Orleans. This one is a good one, in fact its my favorite movie...period. It stars John Travolta, Scarlett Johansson and Gabriel Macht. Check it out.

You know what....I love or I should say loved movies. I don't get to see as many as I use to, but I think what I'm going to do is have a weekly movie/tv show suggestion. What do you think? Let me know if this is something you, my very few visitors would be interested in.

Amelie

I was at a Pampered Chef party tonight and we got to talking and I mentioned the movie Amelie. Some of the ladies had not heard of it before. So I was thinking on my way home that I would blog about it for those of you that haven't seen it. Amelie is a very cute French movie about a girl who's lonely and searching for love. Don't worry, it has subtitles. Let me just tell you, its one of my favorites. If you haven't seen it, give it a try....I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
